What is Assessment?


     

Assessment is the process of gathering and discussing information from multiple and diverse source in order to develop a deep understanding of what students know, understand, and can do with their knowledge as a result of their educational experiences. It is the process of the climax when assessment results are used to improve the future learning. As academic lessons, it has a different function. Assessment is typically designed to measure specific elements of learning. For example skill of a teacher to teach the students, or the level of knowledge that the students have. Assessment are also can be used to identify the students' strengths and their weaknesses so that the teacher can provide specialized academic support, educational programming or social service for them. Assessment is developed by a wide range of groups and individuals. It includes teachers, district administrators, universities, or state departments of education. While in groups it is include a combination of these individuals and institutions.
